Automated Blast Finishing for Modern Manufacturing

In modern manufacturing environments, the demand for consistent surface finishing, increased throughput and reduced labour costs continues to grow.

Automated blast finishing systems address these challenges by delivering precise, repeatable results while enabling greater process control and productivity. By integrating programmable parameters and controlled media delivery, manufacturers can achieve uniform surface finishes across a wide range of component types and production volumes.

Why Manufacturers Choose Guyson Multiblast® Systems

The Guyson Multiblast range has been developed to meet evolving needs and demands, offering a suite of automated blasting solutions designed to improve consistency, optimise workflow and support scalable manufacturing operations.

The Multiblast range includes spindle, indexing and conveyor-fed systems, ensuring suitability for a broad spectrum of applications and requirements. All systems are controlled via intuitive HMI/PLC interfaces, enabling operators to customise the blasting process in real time and achieve a high degree of process control.

Multiblast® Rotary Spindle Blast (RSB): Flexible Rotary Spindle Automation

The Multiblast RSB is an ideal solution for operators seeking a cost-effective and ergonomic automated blast system. Components are loaded onto a single work spindle, which rotates to ensure full coverage. The system can also be configured with a table to allow the processing of multiple components simultaneously.

Blasting is primarily carried out using vertically traversing blast guns, which can be reconfigured to a horizontal arrangement depending on process requirements. Operators have extensive control over key parameters, including blasting time and spindle speed, allowing for precise and repeatable results.

Multiblast® Rotary Indexing Blast Systems (RXS): High-Throughput Indexing Systems

For those requiring a fully optimised batch-processing solution, the Multiblast RXS range is an excellent choice. Available in three standard sizes: RXS400, 900 and 1400, each system features a varying number of spindles and blasting stations depending on the selected model.

Designed specifically for batch processing, these systems incorporate a dedicated loading and unloading station. This enables components to be prepared and loaded while the current batch is being blasted, ensuring continuous and efficient operation. Blasting is performed using either fixed or vertically traversing blast guns. The RXS systems support multiple blasting stations, allowing concurrent processing of components to significantly increase throughput and productivity.

Multiblast® Through (TR) & Through and Return (TRR): Continuous Through-Fed Blasting Systems

The Multiblast TR and TRR systems represent the most seamlessly automated solutions within the Multiblast range. In the TR system, components are conveyed through the machine via a belt, with dedicated loading and unloading stations either side enabling continuous operation. The components are fed through the blast chamber, where blasting is undertaken by numerous blast guns positioned to ensure full blast coverage of the component as required for the specific process.

The TRR system is designed for applications requiring multiple passes. Components are conveyed through the system and then returned to a single loading/unloading station allowing for multiple blast passes. The conveyor fed design of the TR & TRR makes these systems particularly suitable for high-volume flat components, long length parts and complex geometries that are not well suited to more traditional blasting methods.
