As an industry-leading surface finishing company, Guyson understands that safety, quality and meticulous attention to detail is not optional, it’s fundamental, for their customers in the medical industry.
That’s why Guyson have proudly remained the trusted partner, providing cutting-edge finishing solutions for medical implant, instrument, dental equipment and optical lens component manufacturers worldwide, for over 85 years.
Precision Blasting: Technical throughput, grade-A results
Guyson manufacture a wide range of manual, automated and robotically controlled blasting technology, highly suitable for use across the medical industry.
The smallest of the range includes the micro-blasting Pencil Blaster system, compatible with Guyson’s Formula and Euroblast systems, which delivers precision blast cleaning of delicate components, prevalent in the industry, as well as selective deburring and casting investment removal.
Guyson’s Mediblast stainless steel, beadblasting cabinet, specially engineered for medical product manufacturers and laboratories, where the introduction of ferrous contamination would be detrimental to the production process, is utilised for technical surface preparation of medical implants, surgical instruments and dental bridge work. This uniquely designed medical blast cabinet is compatible with a variety of blast media types and grades.
Amongst the automated range of blast systems are the Guyson Multiblast machines, designed to deliver outstanding quality and repeatability for individual components produced in volume. Notably these systems are highly ideal for grit blasting implants prior to HAp coatings. Guyson’s custom made twin Multiblast RXS900 machine is utilised for computer controlled shot peening orthopaedic hip stems and glass bead decontamination blasting.
Ultrasonic Cleaning Technology: High-frequency efficiency, reliable quality
From manual small baths to large, automated multi-stage cleaning lines, Guyson produces a variety of ultrasonic cleaning equipment best suited to the needs and requirements of the medical industry.
Included in Guyson’s manual ultrasonic cleaning solutions are the GUK ultrasonic baths, commonly used in medical laboratories for cleaning instruments, implants, glassware and syringes, prior to sterilisation. The Ultrasonic Clean-Rinse (UCR) tanks are implemented for precision cleaning medical stents.
For high specification and volume cleaning applications, the automated Microsolve 250 mono-solvent system is used for precise stain-free cleaning of optical lens components, removing any traces of airborne dust and other residues. The four-stage Microclean system, is notably suited for a wide range of precision cleaning needs in the medical industry, including cleaning adhesive from cutting blades, as well as cleaning and passivating medical implants.
Solvent Specialists: Guyson’s one-stop-shop ultrasonic cleaning solutions
In addition to manufacturing precision cleaning equipment, Guyson supply a range of Inventec solvents compatible with their Microsolve mono and co-solvent cleaning systems, providing customers with a ‘one-stop-shop’ for all their advanced cleaning needs.
Best suited for medical devices and tools, Guyson supply Inventec’s PFAS-free PROMOSOLV NEO B1 and PROMOSOLV DE3 solvents for vapour phase processes, such as degreasing. For co-solvent processes, Guyson supply Inventec’s hydrocarbon-based fluid, TOPKLEAN, for degreasing, and PROMOSOLV DR1 for light duty cleaning and rinsing.
