Job Vacancy: Test/Commissioning Engineer

Test/Commissioning Engineer
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To be responsible for testing / commissioning all equipment produced by the manufacturing facility. Working on the manufacture of products in accordance with issued procedures and work instructions to agreed quality standards, delivery deadlines and manufacturing targets. Involvement with the Manufacturing Team, to establish the most effective and efficient processes and procedures for assembly, test, and commissioning.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- To carry out, train and assist in the testing of manufactured equipment.
- To carry out Internal Testing and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of Guyson equipment.
- Commissioning on customers’ sites of Guyson manufactured equipment.
- Electromechanical assembly in accordance with product drawings & Company Procedures
- Ensure compliance with Company procedures and controls.
- Undertake Electrical and Functional Testing in accordance with identified specifications, test procedures and work instructions.
- To accurately record and report all required information and data within the agreed timescale and procedures.
- Complete assemblies and provide assistance to other Departments as the workload demands.
DUTIES
- Provide feedback to Engineering and Management
- Self-inspection and inspection of piece parts.
- Cable routing on equipment
- Electrical wiring
- Mechanical assembly and fitting
- Travel and undertake repair work at remote sites where necessary
- Prototyping and mock up manufacture in support of the development process
- Take responsibility for personal aspects of quality
- Other tasks as requested by the Guyson Business
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- City & Guilds or equivalent electro/mechanical training & qualifications.
- Company training to meet the job requirements.
- Experience of PLC-HMI programming.
- Experience of robot control programming.
- Methodical approach to assembly, system testing and problem solving.
- Able to read drawings and carryout bench work.
- Task orientated with a flexible attitude.
- Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Knowledge in all aspects of the manufacturing processes associated with wiring, assembly, test and faultfinding etc.
- Self motivated, ability to work alone or as part of a small team.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication skills.
- Full UK Driving license.

A position has become available at Guyson International Ltd (Hose and Couplings Division, Guiseley) for a:
Trainee Internal Sales Engineer
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To respond to customer enquiries and promote sales of the Division’s hose and coupling product ranges and other products sourced specifically for their requirements, offering technical sales advice and providing customers with sales quotations for the best solutions to their hose and coupling applications.
MAIN TASKS
- Assessing customers’ technical sales enquiries and technical requirements received over the phone, by email or in person.
- Providing prompt responses over the phone and by email to customers’ requests including sales quotations, technical information and advice.
- Dealing with requests from our field Sales Team colleagues following on-site visits to customers including sales quotations, technical information and advice.
- Liaising with suppliers and colleagues to establish best possible technical, lead-time and commercial response to customers.
- Accurate and thorough technical and commercial contract review of sales orders received from customers.
- Communicating and resolving with customers where any queries are identified between quotation and sales order.
- Processing of reviewed sales orders on to company ERP system and providing sales order acknowledgements.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills, with ability to confidently present customers with technical and attractive sales solutions at all levels.
- A technical or engineering/manufacturing background is beneficial with a good problem solving approach.
- An understanding of general sales processes and techniques with an eagerness to grow sales.
- Well organised to manage and prioritise workload on one’s own initiative.
- Computer literate and have the ability for maintaining good and comprehensive records of customer requests, sales responses and general correspondences.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Hard working with a positive mind-set and enthusiastic character to work as a team player.
Training: Ongoing in-house training will be provided.
This is a permanent position, subject to a 3 month trial period.
Hours: 37.5 hour week. Monday to Friday - currently 9.00 am to 5.00 pm with a half hour lunch break each day (subject to change).
Salary: Dependent on experience.
Commission: Payable on divisional sales when training completed.

Skilled Welder / Sheet Metal Worker
MAIN TASKS
Welding and fabricating our blast finishing equipment and ultrasonic cleaners.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Ideally the candidate will be apprentice trained in the welding of thin sheet mild steel, stainless steel and sectional fabrications in TIG and MIG welding.
- Good knowledge of general sheet metal working machinery is required
- The ability to work to technical drawings is essential.
SALARY: £15.74 per hour
This is a permanent position, subject to a 3 month trial period.
Hours: 39 hours per week
Monday to Thursday - 7.15 am – 4.15 pm with a half hour lunch break and a 10 minute morning break.
Friday - 7.15 am to 12.15 pm

MAIN TASKS
The work mainly consists of welding our sheet steel standard product.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
The ideal candidate will have a knowledge of MIG and TIG welding of mild steel in an engineering/manufacturing environment.
The ability to read engineering drawings is essential.
This is a permanent position, subject to a 3 month trial period.
Hours: 39 hour week
